Did you use your own unique ideas in your work and what was your limitation?
I decided to do a portrait picture of one of the Beatles and have it relate to one of their songs. So I picked George Harrison and did him in water color, to make it relate to his song "While my guitar gently weeps". I used my limitation as only using one color of water color for the whole portrait. I used a turquoise color to give the color of tears.
What were the problems you encountered while doing this project and how did you solve them?
One of the problems I encountered while doing this project were how to create all the values and shadows on his face. I solved this problem by using light layers of the paint and built them up to create the shadows. I also was frustrated on how to get all the tiny details on his hair in. I ended up using a very small brush and made strokes like I would if I were using a pencil to solve that problem.
