For my teens inspired I wanted to pick a modern piece. I have always done the traditional photographic drawing style and I wanted to branch out a little. I also wanted to try my hand at painting again because that had been the area that always scared me because it wasn't my strong suit. The piece I chose for my teens inspired was The Green Bridge Two by Lyonel Feininger. I was inspired by this piece because of all the geometric shapes. The style reminded me a bit of cubism. I have always wanted to try this style out because I normally stick to the exact detail oriented pieces and never branch out. That is why I picked this painting to use as my inspiration for my teens inspired piece. For my piece I decided to use mainly cool colors with one white character like in the painting, The Green Bridge Two. Instead of people I decided to put in animals. I broke them up into shapes and made them using shapes instead of painting in all their details. I wanted to set them up on a bridge like how the cats walked on the train tracks in the movie, The Aristo-cats. I chose to do a white wolf, and a cat with a cool color. I painted them walking along a bridge and broke up the bridge and ground into shapes to create the geometric style. For the sky I originally wanted to do buildings in the background, but when I did this it made it seem like two different painting so I chose to do the sky as squares and rectangles moving sideways to create movement with the piece. Overall this was a great experience for me allowing me to explore a new style and be inspired by a great artist.
